Program Highlights

Great Eastern International Kids Performing Festival 2010

• Conducted by international trainers and personalities from the world of performing arts, the speakers and trainers are reknown for their craft and are champions in competitions of their specialized fields from various countries.

• The seminars and master workshops will cater to performers , trainers and teachers of performing arts, catering to different degrees of standards and skills.

• Contestants for the Singapore Performing Arts Junior Championship are encouraged to participate in this camp as the speakers and trainers of the convention will give valuable tips to the contestants to better hone their skills and prepare for the competition.

• The convention fee includes meals and transportation to the venues of SINGAPORE PERFORMING ARTS JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP, a full- day ticket to the Quarterfinals at the Genexis theater.

Cost



• TCONVENTION 6- DAY pack : S$1200 (Currency for all cost are in Singapore Dollars)

• To include welcome pack, notes, workshops, seminars , transport to venues of festival, meals( tea, lunch and dinner), ticket to Quarterfinals of SPAJC, and discount to Prodigies of the world concert.

• Adults: $250 per session ( tickets to be purchased on registration)

• PROGRAM Participants can choose any workshops or seminars in the different tracks.

• There is no restrictions on the number of workshops for 6-day pack. Participants have to register for the workshops or seminars upon registration and signups.

• Discounts is offered to Convention participants staying in festival partner hotels. Please click here for more information for hotel accomodation.

SPEAKERS AND TRAINERS

TERENCE GUILLERMO
VOCAL TECHNIQUE / CHORAL TRAINING

• TERENCE GUILLERMO, one of the most sought-after vocal trainers and choirmasters in the Philippines, first arrived in Singapore a couple of years ago
to do a month-long run of the musical live show "Barbie as the Island Princess" in Raffles City™.

• He has an extensive experience in choral performance and has been part of award-winning choirs including the world-renowned and multi-awarded Philippine Madrigal Singers—UNESCO Artist for Peace and the first and the only choir to win twice in the prestigious European Grand Prix for Choral Singing or what is known as the choral Olympics of the world. He was a delegate and soloist to the 1st Asian Choir Games in Indonesia, and has won Gold, Silver, and Category Winner awards for the Philippines. He was also a delegate to the 1st Daegu International Choral Festival in South Korea, and Cultural Center of the Philippines’ 1st Philippine International Choral Festival and 2nd National Theatre Festival. He is a member of the Philippine Choral Directors Association and choirmaster of several choirs including the recently formed Kids Performing Choir and Popstars City Choir.

• He is a multidisciplinary artist-professional with varied exposure and experience in the performing arts as well as information, education and communications works. He has formal education in Theater Arts, Voice, and Choral Conducting at the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Arts and Letters, UP College of Music, and the Asian School of Music, Worship and the Arts; respectively.

• He travels SE Asia to teach theater and music mostly for the cultural dissemination and arts enrichment projects of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and Celestial Fame in K.L., Malaysia. As a voice teacher, he has been the key teacher and faculty member of the Yamaha School of Music-Voice Department, producing several Champions in Yamaha—s annual inter-branch Grand Prix competition. His private voice students have won in National and International voice competitions.

• He has participated in over a hundred theatrical and musical productions since 1985. He was the musical director of “Search for the Amazing Philippine Singing Star,” a national television singing competition. His compositions have been used intensively by the Philippine Information Agency and some of his albums have been circulated in 62 countries.

• He is the Producer-Director of Kids Performing Repertory Theatre's maiden production “Narnia, the Musical.”
